Eliminate while minimising the risk of recurrence
Verruca, or commonly known as warts, are skin growths caused by the human papillomavirus (HPV).The virus enters the body through a break in the skin, leading to the development of these non-cancerous growths. The HPV strains responsible for verruca are highly contagious and can be transmitted through direct skin-to-skin contact or by contact with contaminated surfaces.
Effective treatment options for verruca aim to eliminate the wart while minimizing the risk of recurrence and addressing any associated symptoms. Treatment approach’s available at Skin Soles Skin and Foot Health Clinic include Debridement, Topical Therapies, Sterex Diathermy Current Combined with RF and Cryotherapy: Freezing the verruca with liquid nitrogen to destroy the affected tissue.
A comprehensive assessment will be carried out to determine the most suitable course of action. This evaluation includes a meticulous visual examination of the lesion, along with an assessment of an individual's social, medical, and occupational history. Guidance can offer valuable insights into the most suitable treatments based on the specific characteristics of the warts, their location, and the individual's overall health, contributing to a more effective and tailored approach to managing verruca.

Topical Treatment for Verruca
Topical treatments are a common and effective approach for addressing verruca, providing individuals with a non-invasive option to target and eliminate these benign skin growths. The application of topical treatments for verruca typically involves the regular and consistent administration of the advised medication directly to the affected area, aiding in the gradual breakdown and elimination of the wart tissue. By adhering to the prescribed treatment regimen, individuals can work toward reducing the size and appearance of verruca, ultimately leading to their successful removal.

Verrutop (professional clinic treatment)
Verrutop is an innovative medication specifically formulated for addressing verruca’s and warts. Formulated with a Nitrizinc complex, this solution is applied directly to the affected area to initiate the process of drying up and desiccation of the lesions, thereby fostering cell death. Consequently, this targeted approach aids in the reduction and potential removal of verruca, offering individuals a promising option for managing these common skin growths. Verrutop is particularly beneficial for smaller verrucas found on the tops of toes or feet. The process begins with the reduction of the overlying hard skin on top of the verruca utilising a scalpel. While this process is generally painless, minimal bleeding may occur, which is considered normal. Subsequently, the application of Verrutop follows, with the solution being carefully applied multiple times and left to dry. Individuals may experience a slight stinging or burning sensation in the area, which typically subsides shortly after treatment.
According to the manufacturers of Verrutop, clinical trials have shown a remarkable efficacy rate of 90% after six applications of the solution. While this high success rate is promising, it's essential to note that like any verruca treatment, there is no definitive guarantee of complete clearance. Nevertheless, Verrutop offers a compelling option with a significant potential for effectively managing verruca’s and supporting their resolution.
Verrutop presents several benefits that make it a favourable treatment choice for individuals dealing with verruca’s. The treatment process is quick and typically painless, offering individuals a convenient and efficient approach to managing their condition. Furthermore, there is no requirement to keep the foot dry after treatment, allowing individuals to resume their normal activities shortly following the application of Verrutop. Importantly, this treatment option also helps eliminate the risk of spreading verruca to others, providing individuals with peace of mind as they work towards managing their condition effectively.

Sterex Diathermy Current
The Sterex diathermy treatment for verruca’s is a highly effective, specialised treatment method that harnesses the power of diathermy, a therapeutic technique that encorpates high-frequency/radio-frequency electrical currents to produce heat within the tissues. The process involves the precise application of a sterile disposable probe which then releasees the Diathermy current to the verruca precisely targeting the affected tissue, leading to its destruction while minimising damage to surrounding healthy skin. This treatment method aims to cauterise and eliminate the verruca by targeting and disrupting the affected tissue, whilst stimulating an immune response ultimately resulting in its gradual breakdown and removal.

Swift Microwave Therapy
Maybe coming soon! The jury is still out because we already get such amazing results with Sterex Diathermy Current which also incorporates radio-frequency technology!

Cryotherapy
Cryotherapy treatment involves the application of liquid nitrogen to the Verruca site. The verruca will turn white due to the freezing process, causing rapid freezing and destruction of verruca tissue. Patients may experience a burning sensation during the procedure, with a blister forming afterward. The blister may swell, dry up, and form a scab, which will eventually fall off as new skin forms.
Multiple treatment sessions may be needed for complete removal. Ask about our discount on a course of 3 treatments.
