Laser Treatments

laser therapy with Q-switch ND-YAG 1064 and 532 wavelengths offers a versatile and precise solution for a wide range of dermatological concerns, providing patients with safe and effective treatment options for skin rejuvenation and enhancement.

Introduction

Visible Results

The ND-YAG Q-switched laser utilises neodymium-doped yttrium aluminum garnet (Nd:YAG) crystal as the medium for generating the laser beam. The "Q-switched" technology refers to the ability to produce short, high-energy pulses of laser light in nanosecond durations.

The ND-YAG laser emits light at two specific wavelengths: 1064 nanometers (nm) and 532 nm. The 1064 nm wavelength is ideal for penetrating deeper into the skin, targeting pigment and tattoo ink particles, while the 532 nm wavelength is effective for treating superficial pigmentation and vascular lesions.

When the ND-YAG laser is applied to the skin, the high-energy light pulses are absorbed by specific targets such as melanin in pigmented lesions, hemoglobin in blood vessels, tattoo ink particles, or fungus in onychomycosis. This absorption leads to photothermolysis, where the targeted cells or particles are fragmented and eliminated by the body's natural processes.

Improve The Following

Laser Treats

  • Vascular Lesions

Effective in targeting and coagulating blood vessels that cause vascular lesions such as spider veins & broken capillaries. The laser's energy is absorbed by the hemoglobin in the blood vessels, leading to their destruction and eventual reabsorption by the body

  • Pigmented Lesions Rejuvenation Treatment

Targets excess melanin in the skin, treating pigmented lesions like sunspots, freckles, and melasma. The laser energy breaks down the melanin particles, gradually lightening the pigmentation and improving skin tone

  • Rejuvenation Treatment

Targets and addresses a wide range of skin concerns, laser therapy promotes overall skin rejuvenation, resulting in clearer, smoother and more youthful looking skin

  • Fungal Nail Treatment

Treats Fungal Nail Infection (onychomycosis), a fungal infection of the nails. The laser energy penetrates the nail plate to target and eliminate the fungus, promoting healthy nail growth and improving the appearance of the affected nails

Available Treatments

  • Initial Skin Consultation

Before starting any laser or IPL treatment, an initial skin consultation and patch test is mandatory. This will ensure all is well to go ahead with the treatment and that you fully understand and are happy with what the treatment process will be. The patch test will give you an idea of how the treatment will feel and how your skin may respond. The patch test must be carried out at least 48 hours prior to treatment. The results of the patch will then be checked before any treatment commences. The area to be treated must be four weeks clear of the sun and two weeks clear of any self-tanning lotions/spray.

  • Laser Treatment Vascular/Pigmented Lesions

Before the treatment session, the area to be treated is cleansed to remove any makeup, lotions, or oils. Protective eyewear is then provided to the patient. The Q-switch ND-YAG laser is then calibrated to deliver the appropriate wavelength (1064 or 532 nm) depending on the skin concern being targeted. The laser is applied to the skin in short pulses, targeting the specific area of concern while protecting the surrounding skin.

Patients may experience a mild tingling or snapping sensation during the laser treatment, however it is a comfortable experience which is safe for various skin types, with long-lasting results with minimal downtime.

Follow-up Sessions maybe needed depending on the skin concern being addressed, multiple treatment sessions spaced several weeks apart may be recommended to achieve optimal results. The number of sessions required varies based on the individual's skin type, concerns, and response to treatment.

Over time, patients can expect to see gradual improvements in their skin texture, tone, and appearance as the targeted vascular/pigmented lesions begin to fade or diminish.

  • Rejuvenation Treatment

    CARBON PEEL LASER SKIN TREATMENT

This non-invasive skin treatment involves the application of a carbon paste which acts as a photo enhancer, providing better absorption of the laser energy.

During the treatment, the laser energy (Nd:YAG) is used to heat and vaporize the carbon particles, effectively exfoliating the skin and removing impurities, dead skin cells, and excess oil. The laser energy stimulates collagen production, which can improve skin tone, texture, and overall appearance.

    Cost
    From £100
  • Fungal Nail Treatment

The Q-switched mode of the Nd:YAG laser produces two wavelengths, including one in the infrared range (1064 nm) and a second beam of 532 nm wavelength. During the treatment, the affected nails are often thinned or debrided to facilitate better penetration of the laser energy. The Q-switched Nd:YAG laser delivers short, high-energy pulses of light, generating heat within the fungal cells. This process effectively disrupts their structure and function, potentially leading to the eradication of the fungal infection within the nail.

It's important to note that while the Q-switched Nd:YAG laser treatment holds promise for onychomycosis, the effectiveness of the procedure may vary from person to person. Multiple treatment sessions may be necessary to achieve the desired outcomes. Additionally, individuals considering this treatment will have a thorough consultation to evaluate their eligibility and discuss potential risks and benefits.
